Apex Agent Privacy Policy

At Cybertek Dynamics, we take your privacy seriously. Apex Agent was built from the ground up with a strict “Privacy-First” and “Bring Your Own Infrastructure” (BYOI) philosophy. This Privacy Policy explains how Apex Agent handles your data, how device permissions are utilized, and how we ensure your information remains under your direct sovereignty and control.

1. Core Privacy Principle: Data Sovereignty & Local Storage

Unlike traditional cloud-based AI assistants, Cybertek Dynamics does not operate central tracking servers, telemetry harvesters, or advertising networks.

  • Local Data Retention: Your conversation history, custom personas, and personal preference profiles are stored exclusively on your local Android device via encrypted app storage (DataStore / local SQLite database).

  • Your Infrastructure, Your Rules: Apex Agent processes artificial intelligence queries by connecting directly to a self-hosted AI Gateway or local Ollama instance provided and controlled by you. Your prompts, raw files, and conversational audio are processed on your local network or private cloud instance, not on our servers.

2. Device Information & Runtime Permissions

To provide real-time assistant and automation features, Apex Agent requests access to specific native Android device capabilities. We access and process this data strictly on-device to execute your explicit requests:

  • Location Data (GPS): Used to retrieve hyper-local weather forecasts and calculate driving routes when requested.

  • Calendar: Used locally to read, schedule, or modify your device calendar events upon your command.

  • SMS & Contacts: Used strictly to draft messages, summarize recent text exchanges, or resolve spoken contact names to device phone numbers.

  • Microphone: Utilized only when you manually activate “Hands-Free Mode” or tap the voice button for speech-to-text input. Audio is processed on-device or routed directly to your private backend.

3. Optional Third-Party & “Grounded” Integrations

If you choose to enable specific real-time web grounding or external integration features within the app settings, limited query data may be processed by external service providers:

  • Web Search Grounding (Exa AI / SearXNG): When Web Search is toggled on, your specific search queries are sent to your configured search provider (your private self-hosted SearXNG endpoint or Exa AI via your private API key) to retrieve real-time web data.

  • Weather Services (Open-Meteo): Your geographic coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve live weather metrics.

  • Navigation (Google Maps): Destination coordinates or addresses are handed off to the native Google Maps app on your handset to launch route turn-by-turn navigation.

4. Data Security & Encryption

  • Encrypted Communication: All network traffic passing between the Apex Agent mobile application and your self-hosted Gateway or Ollama instance is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS / WebSockets over TLS).

  • Access Control: Access to your private server endpoint is secured via the custom Secret Passkey / API Key defined by you during setup.

5. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect additions or enhancements to app functionality. Any modifications will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. Users are encouraged to review the “Help & Settings” section within the application for the latest information.
